My name is Samuel Powell I am an aspiring architect. I have always been around construction and growing up in the workforce has given me first-hand experience on how parts of buildings work. I gained an appreciation fMy name is Samuel Powell I am an aspiring architect. I have always been around construction and growing up in the workforce has given me first-hand experience on how parts of buildings work. I gained an appreciation for the beauty of buildings and how we can reconnect with nature utilizing the elements to our benefit reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. I want my works to be able to speak to people about the importance of the environment and our role in it. Artists like Frank Loyd Wright and Meins van der Rohen use minimal designs that allow occupants to connect to nature and help birth the modern era of architecture. Growing up in the mid-west allowed me to experience all the extreme seasons and the many natural beauties of the upper Mississippi River. Throughout my professional and academic career, I have learned that everything is a process of where we come from and where we are going.
